Abstract

COVID-19 is a newly emerging infectious disease which first described in December 2019 Wuhan, China. The disease rapidly spread through the world and after a short time of emerging, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a pandemic. Since, respiratory system is the main organ affected by COVID-19, the kidney could be involved as well. Given the importance of the kidney involvement in COVID-19, in this study we tried to evaluate and describe the effect of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) on kidney. © 2023 The Author(s).
