Abstract

The volatile oil obtained in 1.3% yield by hydrodistillation of the aerial parts of Cymbopogon olivieri (Boiss.) Bor. growen in kerman parovince, Iran was investigated by GC and GC-MS. Fifteen components were detected, representing 93.5% of the total oil. Piperitone (61.0%) and β-caryophyllene (14.4%) were the major constituents of the oil. © 2003 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
