Abstract

Using safe and biocompatible materials in medical practice is essential. In dentistry, due to the environmental diversity of the oral cavity, the long-term application of dental material demands precise evaluation of its toxicity profile. A variety of dental materials are being used in dental settings that each possesses different biocompatibility and toxicity characteristics. The knowledge on the toxic biological effects of chronic exposure to dental material is insufficient, and more clinical studies are still needed to determine the biocompatibility and safety of dental settings. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
