Abstract

This Corrigendum relates to the above article. Post-publication, an investigation identified a concern around the authenticity of the following figures/image panels: -Fig. 8 Panel A (representative micrographs of DCX immunofluorescence with cell nuclei counterstained by DAPI in the SHAM and MCAO+NS groups) appears to depict a duplicated DAPI micrograph representing different experimental samples. Fig. 8 Panel A (representative micrographs of DCX immunofluorescence with cell nuclei counterstained by DAPI in the SHAM and MCAO+NS groups) appears to depict a duplicated DAPI micrograph representing different experimental samples. The authors were requested to provide comment on these concerns, as well as the original unprocessed image files to aid investigation, and have clarified that the issue resulted from an unintentional clerical error during final figure assembly. In Fig. 8 Panel A, the lowest two rows, which depict DCX expression in the striatum of four experimental groups, the DAPI-stained image for the MCAO+NS group was inadvertently duplicated and placed in the SHAM group. The authors declare that the SHAM and MCAO+NS experiments were performed on distinct biological samples and that the corresponding DCX staining images are distinct and correctly presented. As this error is limited to the presentation of the DAPI image, it does not affect the underlying raw data, quantitative analyses, or the scientific conclusions of the study. The authors have provided the correct figure as below. The authors apologise for this oversight. The journal apologises that the oversight was not identified prior to publication.(Figure presented) © 2026 .
