Abstract

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. Post-publication, an investigation conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team, prompted by a PubPeer post, identified concerns around the authenticity of the following figures/image panels: Fig. 1. (a) XRD patterns of synthesized BGs and MBGs containing 10 and 20 % cobalt ferrite, (b) XRD patterns of MBGs containing 10 % cobalt ferrite before and after soaking in SBF for 3 and 7 days. These images contain repeating patterns in the noise signals throughout. Fig. 7. DAPI stained images of (a) pure MG63 cells. A subset of Panel (a) appears to be identical to another subset within the same image, with a rotation of 147°. Another section of it appears to be duplicated with a rotation of 129°. Further to the above concerns, the Ethics team also discovered a change in authorship between the original submission and revised version of this paper. During revision, the authors Babak Faraji Dizaji and Ameneh Bakhtiari were added to the revised paper without explanation and without exceptional approval by the journal editor, which is contrary to the journal policy on changes to authorship. The authors were requested to provide comment on these concerns. It was felt that the explanations provided were unsatisfactory in resolving these concerns. The Editor has determined that the findings of the article cannot be relied upon, and has decided to retract the article. The authors disagree with the retraction of the article and dispute the grounds for it. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
