Abstract

Microbial resistant is one of the problem which impose health costs and other problematical issues considerably. Using of Ag nano-particles as alternate healing method would be good due to its beneficial aspects, especially in wound dressing. In case series study, 160 patients with wound were recruited and divided into two subgroups randomly including 80 patients (13 females, 67 males, mean age= 31.29±9.28) as Agicoat users for their wound and 80 routine prescribed antibiotic patients (11 females, 69 males, mean age= 30.48±8.43). Clinical features of both group were collected meticulously and treatment outcomes were evaluated after 5 and 10 days of start healing methods. The findings were analyzed by SPSS ver.16. Our findings showed that treatment outcomes in Agicoat group were better than that of in antibiotic users’ groups. Furthermore, average time of sutures in Agicoat nano-crystal was noticeably less than in antibiotic using group. Moreover, wound length and severity of contamination had direct relationship in wound healing. Also, our assessments revealed that method of treatment are really pivotal in time and power of wound healing (Using of Agicoat was dramatically better strategy than prescribe antibiotic). Regarding to the beneficial effects of Agicoat, including cost effective and reduce pain level and make fast effect because of using in local site and in touched with microbial agents, and also considering day by day increasing antibiotic resistant worldwide, we believe that Agicoat might be a good candidate for substituting of antibiotic. © 2020, Advanced Scientific Research.
