Abstract

The Editor-in-Chief has retracted this article. After publication, concerns were raised regarding the statistical data reported and figures presented in this work, as portions of the second and fourth panels in the Ki-67 column of Fig. 4 appear to overlap. The authors provided some statistical data on request from the Publisher, but further investigation found discrepancies between these results and those reported in the paper. In addition, the authors were unable to provide the original immunohistochemistry images for this research and have stated these experiments were conducted by an external pathology service. This is in contradiction with the Journal’s submission requirement that “all [reported] data were generated in-house”. The Editor-in-Chief therefore no longer has confidence in the results and conclusions reported in this article. Fataneh Esmaeili disagrees with this retraction. The remaining authors did not reply to correspondence from the Publisher about this retraction. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
