Abstract

This article has been retracted: please see Elsevier Policy on Article Withdrawal (https://www.elsevier.com/locate/withdrawalpolicy). This article has been retracted at the request of Editor-in-Chief. The journal was initially contacted by a concerned reader asserting that primer sequence included in the paper is non-targeting and does not correspond to the p38a target that was intended, which is also concluded in PubPeer: https://pubpeer.com/publications/B83B390E2E94AAC87167605969CE9C?utm_source=Chrome&utm_medium=BrowserExtension&utm_campaign=Chrome. This incorrect primer sequence is also found in another article by the same group published in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry 449, (2018), 267–276. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11010-018-3363-3. More data overlap was revealed between Figs. 1, 2, 3, and 5 of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry article, and Figs. 1, 2, 4, and 5 of Life Sciences article. The authors corrected the primer sequence but cannot provide the raw data of other figures or satisfy explanation for the overlapping of the data. The editors have lost trust in the data and decided to retract the article. © 2025 Elsevier Inc.
