Abstract

The solubility profile of codeine phosphate is investigated in the mixture of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and 2-propanol at various temperatures utilizing a commonly-used shake flask method and the measured data are fitted to some cosolvency models. The density values of codeine phosphate saturated mixtures as another physico-chemical property are measured and represented as a mathematical model. To investigate the model accuracy, the mean relative deviations (MRD %) of the back-calculated density and solubility data are computed. The apparent thermodynamic parameters (i.e. ∆H°, ∆S°, and ∆G°) of the dissolution of codeine phosphate in the binary mixture of NMP and 2-propanal are computed using the Gibbs and van't Hoff equations at Thm. © 2020
