Abstract

Exosomes are membrane-enclosed vesicles that contain lipids, proteins, mRNA, and microRNA. They can be a source of multiple markers of malignancy that could offer clinically valuable data. On the other hand, they can pass through the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and play an endogenous nano anticancer drug delivery vehicle for glioma. This review will discuss exosome potential in the diagnosis and novel treatment of glioma and their role in chemotherapic resistance and metastasis through an interaction with a range of host cells in the brain. © 2021 by the authors.
